(PHARMACY CARE SCHEME)

WHAT IS THE PHARMACY CARE MINOR AILMENTS SCHEME?

Everyone can come to Hull Late Night Pharmacy for advice or to buy a medicine for a minor illness or ailment. The Pharmacy Care Minor Ailments Service is an NHS service for anyone who does not pay prescription charges. It means that if our pharmacist thinks you need it, then they can give you a medicine without you having to pay for it. It will also save you making an appointment with your GP simply to get a medicine that we can provide for without the need to make an appointment. Our pharmacists are available for consultation without appointment Monday to Saturday from 8am until 11pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 9am until 9pm. Hull Late Night Pharmacy is here to provide pharmacy services when you need them -including out of hours.

WHO IS THE SERVICE FOR?

You can use the Pharmacy Care Service if:

You are registered with a GP surgery in the Hull area. You don't pay for your prescriptions. You are suffering from one of the conditions listed below.


WHAT DOES THE SERVICE OFFER?

You will be able to get advice and free treatment from our pharmacist for minor illnesses and ailments such as:


Acne

Headlice

Athletes Foot

Indigestion/heartburn
Nausea/Vomiting

Constipation

Mouth Ulcers

Nasal Congestion

Cystitis

Nappy Rash

Pain

Constipation

Mouth Ulcers

Skin Conditions

Ear Ache

Teething

Thrush

Eye Conditions

Threadworm

Eczema

Warts & Verrucae

Hay Fever

Insect Bites & Stings

Cold Sores

Coughs & Colds

Dandruff

Haemorrhoids (piles)

Diarrhoea


HOW DOES IT WORK?

Come to Hull Late Night Pharmacy at a time that suits you. All services are available during normal hours and out of hours. You can access treatment whenever we are open. You will be asked to provide evidence of your identity and NHS number e.g. NHS card. Our pharmacist will give you advice on how best to deal with your symptoms.


WHAT WILL THE PHARMACY STAFF DO?

Once we have confirmed that you are eligible for this service we will ask you:

Some questions about your symptoms. Details about other medication you are currently taking. If you are allergic to any medication. All details you provide to us are completely confidential. We are bound by NHS confidentiallity regulations and The Data Protection Act.


WHAT WILL THE PHARMACY STAFF GIVE ME?

Advice on how best to deal with your symptoms. The right medicine for you if you need any. This medicine is only for you, it may not be the right medicine for somebody else, even if they have similar symptoms. Advice on how to take the medicine.


YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO GO TO YOUR GP IF;

Our pharmacy staff suggest you should, or You need a medicine that you can only get on prescription from your GP.
